Report Templates

Report templates help to standardize the design of reports generated on a recurring basis. Fields can be merged from different Sf CRM objects and then these reports become available in that object’s Batch Actions.

Selecting Report Templates on the Templates menu displays the Report Templates screen, shown below. Follow the steps below to work with the Report Templates screen.

The following columns of information are displayed for each report template on the Report Templates list.

Fields  Description
Name  Indicates the name of the Report Template.
Owner  Indicates the name of the person who created or has ownership of the Report Template.
Object  Indicates which Sf CRM Object the Report Template is associated with.
Type  Indicates the format type for the Report Template, either Plain Text or HTML.
  1. Click New to create a new Report Template.
  2. Click Copy to copy an existing Report Template
  3. Click Edit to Modify Report Template
  4. Click Delete to delete a Report Template from the system.
  5. Use Quick search to locate a specific Report Template.
  6. Make a selection from the Owner list to display reports associated with a specific user.

New Report Template

Clicking New on the Report Templates screen displays the New Report Template window, illustrated below, which is used to create a new Report Template within Sf CRM. Follow the steps below to work with the New Report Template window.

  1. Select the type for the new Report Template from the Type list; available options are HTML or Plain Text.
  2. Enter a name for the new Report Template in the Name text field.
  3. Select the Object from which to merge fields for the new Report Template from the Merge 
    Fields
  4. Double-click a function on the Function list to insert it into the body of the new Report 
  5. Use the built-in word processor to enter and format the content to be used in the body of the new Report Template.
  6. Click Spell Check to check the spelling within the body of the new Report Template.
  7. Click to save the new Report Template to the system. It will now be displayed on the Report Templates list on the Report Templates

Copy Report Template

Selecting Copy on the Report Templates screen displays the Copy Report Template window, shown below. Copying a Report Template is a quick and easy way to create a new Report Template based on existing one, allowing you to make modifications to it as necessary and then save it to the system as a new Report Template. Follow the steps outlined in the New Report Template section of the document when modifying a Report Template.

Modify Report Template

Selecting Edit on the Report Templates screen displays the Modify Report Template window, shown below, which allows you to make modifications to an existing Report Template that you have selected on the Report Templates list. Follow the steps outlined in the New Report Template section of the document when modifying a Report Template.

 Delete Report Template

Clicking Delete for a line selected on the Report Templates list on the Report Template screen allows you to remove a Report Template from the system. A Confirmation window, shown below in is displayed to confirm that is your intention. Click OK to remove the Report Template from Sf CRM, or click Cancel to exit this window without performing the deletion.
