Query

Selecting Query on the My Setup menu displays the Query Preferences screen, shown below. The Query Preferences option allows you to define the fields that you would like to make available for running a Query on a given object. Follow the steps below to work with the Query Preferences screen.

  Click Same as group to make the settings here the same as they are configured for the User Group you belong to. The Confirm Make Query Setup Same as Group window is displayed, as shown below.

Click OK to take this action or click Cancel to exit this window without making the change.

Step 1

  1. Make a selection from the Query Manager should show queries Owned by list to indicate a sort order for Queries, if desired.
  2. Indicate how Queries should be displayed by selecting the Query Manager should show Query Name, Owner, Sort by, Where conditions or View last check boxes, as appropriate.
  3. Select the Advanced Search should assume wildcard for list, text and long text fields Starting With, Ending With, Anywhere in the String or None radio button to configure the Advanced Search settings for Queries.
  4. Select the Quick Search should assume wildcard to list, text and long text fields Starting With, Ending With, Anywhere in the String or None radio button to configure the Quick Search settings for Queries.
  5. Specify the Maximum number of Queries you can create by entering the umber in the text box.

Step 2

  1. Select Fields to query from the drop down list containing all the Objects.
  2. Click on the Show group by check box if you want to display the group selected from the object list.
  3. From the drop down list of Choose group by field select the status type to be displayed.
  4. If applicable, move Query status items from the Available values to the Selected Values by selecting them and clicking Add/ insert. Multiple selections can be made using the Ctrl and Shift keys. Conversely, move items from the Selected Values back to the Available Values by selecting them on the list and clicking Remove
  5. Click on  to move a Selected value up or down.
  6. Click Modify Advanced Search to modify the Advanced Search parameters.
  7. Click Modify SQL Query to modify the SQL Query Search parameters.

Step 3 : Global Search

  1. Click Modify for Anywhere in the String to modify the Anywhere in the string parameters.

 Modify Advance Search

Selecting Modify for the Advance Search on the Query Setup screen displays the Modify Advanced Search screen, illustrated below. Follow the steps below to work with the Modify Advanced Search screen

 

  1. Select the Object from the Select an Object list if you want the Search type modified for, is not displayed.
  2. Ensure that Advanced search is selected on the Select query type.
  3. Move Recent Record items from the Available list to the Selected List by selecting them and clicking Add/ Insert. Multiple selections can be made using the Ctrl and Shift keys .You can add all the items from available List to selected list by clicking Add All. Conversely, move items from the Selected List back to the Available List by selecting them on the list and clicking Remove. Or you can remove all items from Selected List by clicking Remove All.
  4. Click Save to save your preferences.

Modify SQL Query

Selecting Modify for the SQL Query on the Query Setup screen displays the Modify SQL Query screen, illustrated below. Follow the steps below to work with the Modify SQL Query Screen.

  1. Select the Object from the Select an Object list if you want the Search type modified for, is not displayed.
  2. Ensure that SQL Query is selected on the Select query type.
  3. Move Recent Record items from the Available list to the Selected List by selecting them and clicking Add/ Insert. Multiple selections can be made using the Ctrl and Shift keys .You can add all the items from available List to selected list by clicking Add All. Conversely, move items from the Selected List back to the Available List by selecting them on the list and clicking Remove. Or you can remove all items from Selected List by clicking Remove All.
  4. Click Save to save your preferences.

Modify Anywhere in the String

Selecting Modify for the Anywhere in the String on the Query Setup screen displays the Modify Global Search Setup screen, illustrated below. Follow the steps below to work with the Modify Global Search Setup screen.

  1. Under scope select the tables to search during the Query by selecting the appropriate Table check boxes.
  2. Click to save your changes to the system. The changes are effective immediately and your browser refreshes to display the Query screen

Note: You can also customize a Query setup for a number of users within a specific User Group. To do this you need to go to Setup –>Group Defaults –>Query and choose a particular User Group from the available list at the Group Defaults option. The Query Setup screen will be displayed. Follow the steps cited above to set up Query View for a User Group.
